Free TOS

Post by Space Ghost »

CBS has put the entire run of TOS on its website for free... if you live in the United States, that is. Enjoy. :)

How cool is that? I wonder if those files are too large to play on the WMV version on my Palm... :D

Because showing an entire series for free over the internet generaly violates copyright laws.

Do you really think CBS would do this if it wasn't legal?

They are showing advertisements, so as long as that money gets to the right people, I don't see the problem.

I'm sure they own the rights to the show, or at least the right to distribute it. I mean, this isn't just some guy's website, after all. It's a major television network. :)

Oh, right. I thought it was just some guys website, hence my concerns over the legality of it.
Since it's CBS, however....

I watched a couple of episodes recently. Great to go back and watch TOS, I never really got to see it since it was off the air by the time I was born, and I'm more of a TNG guy.

But does anyone know if they have all the TOS episodes up there? There were a couple I couldn't find up there, like the one where the TOS crew meets Cochrane. It doesn't seem to up there. :?

EDIT: Found it! Now if I could get it to work... :?

Check out www.nbc.com and select video watch. They have some old Buck Rogers videos (Wilma oh Wilma), classic Battlestar Galactica as well as many others.

Yeah, I love this trend of networks putting their series up on the Internet. :)

BTW, Jethro, your AV is flippin' awesome.

Is it the remastered episodes?
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.
