War of the Week
War of the Week
An oldie but goodie is reborn.
I had some ideas for the War of the Week.
Centauri vs Minbari
Earth Force vs Narn
ISA vs Vorlons
What say my B5 experts. Is this something that we can intelligently do?

It ''can'' be done rather easily but the question is more ''will'' it be so.

ISA vs Minbari
Centauri vs Earth Force
Narn vs LoNAW
To me, these are more balanced fights that would require greater detail to digest.

I always thought that the Centauri would have cake walked Earth Force. One thing I love about B5 is that the humans are for once on of the backwaters. Perhaps the "shadow destroyers" would have matched a Centauri warcruiser, but not much else. It took an upgraded B5 station and her fighters to destroy just one.

That was a Primus. The Primus was well criticised for its weak anti-fighter protection, Earth-Force's strong point. The Vorchan's however...

Re: War of the Week
That upgraded station wasn't a warship and she still took out the Primus through her defense screens. To me what balances it out is the EA's ability to turn out ships like no tomorrow. Also we've seen that in Fighter/Fighter combat the EA Starfury is unmatched except by the MF Nial. Also consider that the CR Primus fired first and still lasted just over a minute before going up.Mark wrote:I always thought that the Centauri would have cake walked Earth Force. The CR Vorchan is a good fast attack cruiser with really impressive fire power. However it carries no fighters of its own which is a weak point against the EA. Also the CR Vorchan is a close combat ship. They've been shown to have poor long range fire which would mean getting up close to the EA Omega and her 36 Starfury fighter wing.Reliant121 wrote:That was a Primus. As I said, there are tactics that either side could use to take advantage but on just basics they are well balanced opponents.

I always thought the Vorchan was virtually as fast as a fighter. Maybe a baseless assumption.

Re: War of the Week
She's a very fast ship for sure, no denying that. Judging by the size of the engines she may also me just as fast at maximum. Problem is that with such high speed and fire power. The Vochan is most likely (just like all other CR ships) lacking in defensive ability. Armor, interceptors, stealth, fighter support... all are lacking in the CR's fleet.Reliant121 wrote:I always thought the Vorchan was virtually as fast as a fighter. Maybe a baseless assumption.

Hey, gimme a break. I just finished the series
Plus, I was just making a "suggestion". I'm not even going to try and claim to be a B5 expert with only one viewing. Somebody with alot more detailed tech knowledge of B5 really should run a war of the week
BTW, that was one of the best series finales I've ever seen.

Well its your thread and there are a couple of us here that are pretty well gathered on B5. So just pick someone or someone's idea and run with it.

Re: War of the Week
During of course. Early season two, allowing Earth Force to have recovered from the Mimbari war, but before the White Star fleet or any Shadow tech influence.
