Season 1 Cliffhanger "Shockwave"
Season 1 Cliffhanger "Shockwave"
I just watched this 2-parter, and wanted to post a few thoughts about it. Graham doesn't even list any YATIs for this episode! I thought it was a pretty solid episode too.
I really dig the idea of the Suliban "Helix" station, and the general design philosophy they use with their ships. Very original, IMHO.
I think one weakness was the sequence with Hoshi facing her claustrophobia to crawl through the ducts. It was meant to be exciting, daring, and all that but really wasn't (at least for me). The passageways were supposed to be too small for the men (hence sending Hoshi), but they weren't all that small, and Hoshi didn't seem to be phased by them either. Perhaps the entrance was the real tight squeeze - we don't see it on camera...
Overall, pretty exciting, especially this early in the series.

Hmm....don't recall that one. This was the one where Enterprise was recalled after accidently burning the atmosphere off of a mining colony, and when Daniels pulls Archer into the future, which disrupts the timeline and the Federation never forms.
Then again, I did purge most of ENT from my memory...
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"

It was also, IIRC, the one where Daniels built a cross-time transmitter from Archer's communicator and the 31st century equivalent of string and paperclips. A bit like a modern engineer building a nuclear reactor out of a mid 18th century steam engine.
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.
Well, you've got some very basic shielding, some water to moderate the reaction, and some moving parts to raise and lower the... hm. Fuel rods. Hmmmm.Captain Seafort wrote:It was also, IIRC, the one where Daniels built a cross-time transmitter from Archer's communicator and the 31st century equivalent of string and paperclips.
