Paladin Photoshop

Post by Nickswitz »

Mark suggested this to me, and I think it's quite doable, except that we don't have any real schematics or anything for it. If we do, could someone send me to them... But if not, I was planning on making them and then putting the ship into a scene, for beauty shots. So, this will be for all input anyone has for it, especially those who helped design the ship. Just what the basic hull shape will be, the saucer, the engineering hull, the nacelle design, any special opening that there might be (eg. large windows, shuttlebays, cargo bays) or any special outside parts (eg. captain's yacht, large escape pods).

So, now that that is all out, help me make designs, and I can't promise this to be beautiful, but I plan on trying my best. Whenever I have an idea for the design (usually schematic-wise) I'll post the pictures in here.

I don't think there is a finalized design, when I opened a thread to get general discussion on the finalized design flowing again Teaos locked it b/c he thought I was trying to Hijack the topic.

Here is a 3D rendering I did (a rough wire model basicly) based on what we had previously talked about and the feedback on the 2D models I'd drawn up. (the program I designed it on is Google Sketchup, if you don't have it you can download it for free here [the non-pro version], after you download the software you can download the actual model.)

there are two on the outside of the secondary hull, one in the groove in the secondary hull, and one beneath the ship. :poke:

We decided that the added redundancy and endurance would make sense for a full-on Battleship, and that efficiency would be a secondary concern on such a vessel.

This reminds me, I thought we'd decided on a "thicker" primary hull?

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I did this quite some time ago...it was meant to be a rough concept to spark conversation really. Plus I wasn't very good with Sketchup then (not that I'm much better now.)

Is there any way to just stretch the primary hull vertically a little?

I'm going to see about getting Bryce 3d tonight, so I may make a new model myself. :)

Sorry, did we decide on the "X" config for the nacelles or the "+" config?

I don't know, actually.

My model had a "U" config, with the lower nacelles closer together.

EDIT: No, that was my next step that I never got to. Now I have to start from scratch.

Here was my rough untextured idea:

That looks like a rather stretched out x which would probably work better. It fits more with what we have seen from trek.
