Extended Range Shuttlecraft

Post by Grundig »

Image

Dimensions: 9.14 x 3.96 x 3.66 m
Crew: 4
Normal Cruising Speed: 7
Maximum Rated: 8.6 for 4 hours
Shield Strength 16 (GK's scale)
Arms: 2 Type 5 Phaser banks (Aft/Dorsal and Fore/Ventral)

Abstract
This shuttle was designed to transport an away team or delegation of 4 to distant Federation allies and contacts. The engineering compartment is significantly more accessible than most other models, allowing for more independence. The enlarged warp core provides the power to the up-rated phaser banks and shields, and allows for faster travel than the standard long-range shuttle. Additionally, the minimal inclusion of windows strengthens the structural integrity.

OOU: My parents bought a big ol' truck to pull their new over-the-bed trailer ("fifth-wheel" in the US), and I think that's a big inspiration behind this. Not a big deal, just wanted to draw somethin'.

Is there supposed to be a full-size lower deck, or just a "'tween-deck" engine compartment?

What kind of truck, BTW?

It's a half-deck, except on the right side there, where there's a walk space.

It's a Dodge Ram 3500 diesel with extended cab, extended bed... the works. It's giant.

I like it.

little rough, but still a nice design/sketch :)
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

No, giant is the same truck with the full crew cab. And the long bed allows for much more flexibility with the trailer, and therefore easier trailer steering. The Cummins is a good diesel, but loud. Just make sure your trans cooler is always working well.

Not a bad design.

Nice shuttle. Wouldn't mind having one of them right now.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

I always liked the blunt nose design, myself. I like it

I just realised something thanks to this shuttle design. Federation shuttle maintenance must be an absolute bitch with everything that would have to be crammed under the floor boards.

Is the trans(mission?) cooler a weakness on this truck? I ought to tell my parents, though my stepdad is stubborn enough that he'd brush it off for sure. Here's what they bought. Compared to his other trucks, you can see where I got the word "giant."

 I thought about this; Geordi can't very well put on his EV suit to fix things can he? I just figured a crawl space would make more sense.

Thanks for the compliments BTW.

Sorry, I meant that my realisation was inspired by the fact that you actually put a crawl space in. I'm still trying to figure out how they do it in the regular ones.
