GREAT episode, though it makes me wonder why we didn't see Section 31 earlier. Such a badass organization.

I agree, though many here do not. A completely open society would be completely open to enemy spies, so black ops and top secret projects should always be part of human civilization.

Agreed. S31 is an invaluable part of the UFP.

Actually I think most people here like Section 31.

Indeed, I haven't heard many objections against it.

There is no way that the Federation could have survived without it. Starfleet officers were outraged, but realisticly if you play by a certain set of rules, and everyone knows what those rules are, in the galactic arena, you'd never survive, much less thrive like the Federation. S31 did all the dirty work so others COULD live in paradise.

I appreciate the need for S31; I just think it takes 'Trek into a different direction than what many of us had come to expect. That's not necessarily a bad thing either, but I think it limited S31's introduction to when it actually was.

I've read the DS9 book and TNG books. Interesting back round on Lt. Hawk and one of Picards academy friends (the dom-jot player from "Tapestry")

I always wish S31 played a bigger role.

But how cool of an episode would a "Sloan Mission" have been?

I always thought a Section 31 series would've been great.

Maybe when I start writing short stories, I'll do a Section 31 one.
