Personally, I loved Casino Royale. I thought he was great, and I'm totally amped for this one.

The first Casino Royale was horrible, even Sellers couldn't pull that one back. The real one was far better - the best Bond film of modern times IMO, though Craig doesn't possess the charm that all the others bar Lazenby had.

No, but he's a hell of a lot more believable as a killer than Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan.

That's true, but I think Bond is so successful because he is such a charismatic yet cold blooded killer.

Craig had some pretty smooth moments in Casino Royale; I got the impression that he was supposed to seem uncomfortable in the suit, as referenced in the conversation on the train between he and Vesper about his poor upbringing. They're trying to show his transition from brutal killer into suave, sophisticated brutal killer.

Was that the one with the North Korean super-laser satalite?

Nah, that was "Die Another Day". I'm not saying the other ones sucked; I enjoyed Goldeneye. I just liked the more realistic approach they took with Casino Royale. The opening sequence with Bond nearly drowning the guy in a sink let me know that the movie was serious.

I liked Casino Royale, but the product placement in these films is getting more and more blatant :)

*shrug* I like the older, less serious ones, personally. Dunno why, but serious James Bond seems.....weird.

Agreed. That's why Connery was so great - he was the right balance of killer and joker. Moore was too far toward the latter, and IMO Craig is too far toward the former.
