Mostly because vagina-shaped bullets wouldn't be very aerodynamic.

Talk about cavitation...

*ahem* anyway, I like that last one too, though I think it seems to bear a little Romulan influence.

Do you have some spects or any other info about it?

It uses rapid-fire photon launchers and the advanced (green) Klingon torpedoes we saw the Negh'var fire in Way of the Warrior. It has both beam and pulse disruptors (even the port and starboard arcs are covered *gasp*). It's fairly maneuverable, and has stronger shields than the Sovereign.

But as to exact details or specs, not really.

Not one of my favorites but i kinda like the concept: Tarawa Class Assault Transport, a desing plenty of shuttles and transporters to get the troops and equipment on the ground with the utmost speed.

This one (from Journal of Applied Treknology) i really like it though 938m sounds a little too big.
Cardiff Class
Type: Surveillance vessel
First commissioned: 2359
Length: 938m
Width: 704m
Height: 237m
Decks: 15
Complement: 42 officers + 230 crew
Speed: Warp 6 (cruise), Warp 8 (max.), Warp 8.5 (max. emergency)
Designed to take station on the edge of the Neutral Zone and eavesdrop on Romulan communications. The Cardiff is fitted with a Vulcan-style annular warp drive and two massive sensor pods occupy the space normally taken by a Federation starship's warp nacelles.

First question is... what's that ring for?

Secondly, the saucer looks too small compared to the rest of the ship.

Interesting design, though!

It's one of the Vulcan type warp "nacelles" from ENT.

I wanted to hate it but something about it is interesting. I think the dimensions and crew compliment are way out of whack in relation to the vessels role but it's oddly infectious.

Looking at it again, the dimensions are just flat wrong. Unless this thing has multi-deck windows its just wrong.

That just doesnt really work. Why have the ring nacelle as well as the cylindrical nacelles?

Since it's referred to as a testbed I'd assume its so the ship has something to fall back on if the ring nacelle doesn't work out. Though since the Vulcans have apparently used them for a while I don't see the purpose.

Ignoring the specs, I like that one (the non-testbed version). While the specs are... badly thought out, the design is rather... cool.
