I was referring to AR-558; I don't remember seeing any non-humans in the original Starfleet force that Sisko went to relieve, but it's been a while, so I could be mistaken.

You'd think out of over 150 races humans wouldn't be the best at ground fighting.

But we know that Starfleet cant let the impure races take important positions. We humans must rule.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I would like to mention the president of the federation hasn't always been human.

Maybe the number of human and identicle to human species is just larger then the more alien like species. Maybe humans are the bunny rabbits of the federation? There are a lot of human-like species. Could you tell a human apart from a Betazoid just by looks for example?

I do wish they had more noticeable species on Starfleet ships, like Andorians, Tellarites, or even a Vulcans, in the background.

I have heard non-canon sources claim that humans are so prevalent in the Federation because of their relatively high birth rate.

Well, its one of the few possibilities that make sense...

The Betazoids have black irises; But then, very rarely, so do some humans.

They do? I'll have to pay more attention the next time one of them is on-screen...

The full-blooded ones do, per Tam Elbrum and the psycho guy in Voyager. Troi deosn't, presumably because of her half-human heritage, but I don't recall one way or the other in her mom.
