That's what I am thinking too. I like the DITL explanation that the ships are mass produced. Building them in sections on a assembly line by machines then put together with a force of Jem'Hadar's and the occasional Vorta looking over their backs (drinking coffee.)

Well I figure that if they don't then eventually your going to run into the "Wait, why are we blindly following these guys?" thought which with their superior intellect to the Vorta/Jemies could cause a small amount of trouble, plus you'd then have to reset the gene pool to prevent further cognitive evolution.

Could you engineer the same genetic worship for the Founders like the JH have? As long as they are working for the Founders, they are happy. If they even think about going against a Founder, it causes their brain to self-destruct or similar.

Of course it means that Odo would make a good infiltration agent, "Store three copies of the new super-secret weapon on the Defiant." "Yes lord."

They would be really happy too, as an actual Founder spoke to them instead of just a Vorta.

It might be worth a try, though that dependent thought process is what we're trying to get away from....the increased intellectual capacity might make it imposable to program in the "diety gene"....just look at earth, anyone with half a functioning brain cell realizes the bible wasn't actually written by God

I had a thought. You divide the "engineers". You breed one for inspiration and genius, but restrict him with a short lifespan (hell, they can work off each others ideas) then breed another set for workers......strong, can live and work in a vacuum, tireless, and know ONLY there jobs.

That would be a VERY founder like safety net.

I think the Jem'hadar can ably serve as the latter.

Aye, they'd be a good source of labour.

And if they're not fighting anybody, they're just standing there, soaking up the white.

Sounds like a friend of mine.

I mean... uh, I agree.
