McCoy was awesome, not just because he balanced out Spock, but because no other human had over one hundred years of service in Starfleet. He was admiral while Picard was still a plebe at the Academy. Here's to being full of piss and vinegar!

i love Mc'Coy because he was real texas-chilli, true grit, i won't let klingons sneak over the border in fruit trucks, i lynch romulans to trees or chain them to my utility vehicle, kinda guy!
Kelly was great, saw him in a few westerns too, he was able to act with his eyes and created really three dimensional flawed characters, rather than obvious archetypes.

McCoy would do anything with in his power to save anyone. Not something I think of when I think of the fine state of Texas which puts to death more people and than other state.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

McCoy was, IIRC, the only doctor to carry a sidearm regularly and without protest on away missions.

Ah yes, the days when people knew space was dangerous.

Or in some case, what's not in it - specifically air.

Which, I think, makes Space dangerous all by itself.
