Well, this one seems pretty obvious to me; spores are the most logical method of reproduction for a fungal species.

The spore/parasite option, while interesting, relies on the presence of a suitable host.

And, I don't really want to think about a couple of mushrooms getting it on, so that option is out.

I'm against anything parasitic due to the fact that it brings back bad memories of the xenomorphs. That's some seriously screwed up reproduction methods there.

But just think of their society when the age of free sex comes about talking about the decay or moral values.

Get it... decay of moral values... fungal sex... >.>

On a side note, I find it somewhat interesting that this topic has had more replies and views than the others (with the exception of the first one, where the big debate took place).

Well seeing how we're making are own race for DITL then it doesn't shock me that we are bashing each other. MOST of the people on DITL have IQ.

I think it was the sex bomb quote I posted. Whoever wrote up those lyrics though needs a lesson in how to type correctly. But that aside it brings back memories of the porno I first heard that song in :D

There are some funny points in the novels about the xenomorphs farming smaller animals until large enough for use.

That'd alleviate some of the problems, if they were intelligent enough to farm creatures.
But it doesn't change the fact that it's a fucking retarded system of reproduction.

Well, it's retarded because of the circumstances, not on its own. We have species which reproduce the same way, requiring a parasitic host to contain/nourish the juvenile offspring - certain flies and wasps come to mind, although I'm sure there are others. The xenomorph system is FUBAR because those things could potentially have to wait a VERY long time before encountering a potential host.

Do xenomorphs have their own homeworld? I never was really into Aliens so I know very little about them.

Not that we've ever seen.

Another crazy thing is how the baby xenomorph managed to bulk up so much in such a ridiculously short period of time.
