Journey to the Moon and Metropolis!
Come on people classic Sci-Fi! Journey to the Moon was only made in like 1904, hard to get much more classier than that.

The Flight of the Navigator and Short Circuit. Great stories of machines becoming more than machines.

Hmm... maybe. or simply it's just not your type of movie. I thought it was incredibly original and well-done, myself.

As all my other suggestions have been mentioned, I'm gonna nominate "Dark Star", an early John Carpenter film.

Its a very low budget Sci Fi spoof, but is very poignant in places.

What about

Klatuu, Nikto, Barada!
Right words, wrong order:

Klatuu...Barada...Nikto!

As for people being too young, that's not an excuse, it's an oportunity. Find a copy and watch them. They're great.
