Yeah, possibly my favorite video game storyline is about that. Homeworld 1 is basically the Aeneid in space.Mikey wrote:It's actually a fairly common theme in all of literature, not just sci-fi, as Monroe pointed out with the Aeneid, or even the Old Testament. I'd be surprised to not have seen the idea of questing for a lost or promised home/family/colony as often as I have.

How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

That game was awesome. Never could run it right on my old machine, though, so I let a friend borrow it. Needless to say, I never got it back.

Re: Twilight: Battlestar Galactica Inspired?
One of the biggest problems with the episode is that it is one big reset button, which is a common cop out used by the Killer Bs. If the episode had been employed to propel the plot along then perhaps it would not have been a complete waste.

And thanks for the welcome. I signed up in January, but I've been more or less disinterested in 'Trek for the past few months after quitting Trekweb.

I also like Kate Bush. And since you haven't been active, I can say with a straight face that we are all really nice.
