How many film versions of Robert Heinlein's The Puppet Masters have been made? I only saw the one with Donald Sutherland and Keith David, but I understand there was another one? Any help here?

That was a very minor part of the movie. And those helicopter stunts were brillient. They did it with a real helicoptor in that parking guarage, too high, or too far to either side and it would have been over for a very cool scene.

Besides, I don't know of any other movie that has MINIs racing around.

I only knew of the one.

Of course it was! Here's what I actually said:
Wow. Sometimes the conclusions to which you jump just boggle the mind. You never of heard of the real The Italian Job because you're too young. It was FAR superior than the newer one, and I say that as a man who thinks that Charlize Theron is among the yummiest things ever created.

The Bourne Identity had a pretty good mini chase in it.

Come to think of it, the Bourne Identity was a mini series before being made into a film, can I count the film as a superior remake? :)

To be fair, the film was another version based on the book rather then a remake (and only very very loosely based at that), but as theres so few contenders I say we count it.

Um, I'd say Casino Royale, but I've never seen the original so..

Oh, El Dorado - the loose remake of Rio Bravo. Rio Bravo is widely considered the superior, but I liked El Dorado better.

But I doubt it somehow.
I keep hearing about that remake, but I haven't seen anything about about a release date, or if there is even real work going into it.

The original Casino Royale had Peter Sellers - 'nuff said. It was classic.

And Rio Bravo is tops. Wait, that's the one with the Duke and Ricky Nelson, right?

Aye, and some of the best shoots outs in a Western.

But El Dorado had James Caan and Robert Mitchum :)

Speaking of Robert Mitchum, here's a remake that was very good, although not as good as the original: Cape Fear. DeNiro was great, but Mitchum had a quiet, indefinable scariness that was amazing.

Are we going to get the nun soup scenario mentioned in the first one? If not I won't bother unless my kids want to rent it.

Heh, seen a lot of edits like that for movies. 'The Wicker Man' as a comedy, 'The Shining' as a romance and so on. Good find, Blackstar.

And Johnny 5's lip effect could probably be converted to do that cylon eye thing.

It's amazing how they could get such an 'alien' and mechanical face to convey so many emotions back in the 80's. Talking about Johnny 5 now, not the Cylons.
