For anyone who wasnt sure, Canada is bloody cold.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Well, I probably won't be around much for a couple of days. Wifey is receiving her M. Ed. on Tuesday morning, so we'll be up watching her commencement and then celebrating.

Glad to see you back, Tsu. :)

In other news, I've just watched Ireland's entry for the Eurovision song contest. On the plus side, we still managed to beat the UK. Somehow.

It probably helped that our song was so awful.

Actually, I liked Germany's entry. It was the only song in the whole competition that I could see myself sitting and listening to.

It was simple you failed to live up to the deal. We gave you a lot of points and you failed to give us a lot...

I probably should have seen this coming. Went to the TvTropes and found a thread about "The Event" a TV show here in the states. I took a look and turns out it got canceled. Had a few people bemoaning it. For some incomprehensible reason I felt the need to say that it wasn't surprised. The show had eight seasons then went on a holiday hiatus to come back in the spring. The wife and I watched the first eight episodes but didn't start back in spring. I pointed out that it lost us largely because it was just coasting on the momentum of an awesome opening. It didn't give any answers and after watching Lost for however many seasons it ran we weren't interested in watching another show that had no idea what it was really doing.

Anyways, I've now got this guy on my ass about how we didn't give it a chance (eight episodes of an hour long show. Six hours of running time or the same amount of time that it took to get through all three Bourne movies) and that I was obviously one of those people who can't be satisfied and have no patience. I'm the reason reality TV keeps killing "good" shows like The Event.

Should have seen it coming.

As long as you admit that it wasn't people like you. Rather, you and you alone are the reason behind every cancellation in the history of TV.

Fuck no, not until Berman and Braga die!

I mean fucking hell. Six hours of screen time, how much of a chance am I supposed to give something to produce a character or plot point that can hold my attention? Did the fact that this "awesome" show had a thread with only 60 posts prior to mine on the damn TvTropes site not clue him in to this show maybe not being all that?

Supposedly Netflix may be picking it up to run it on it's own. Which would be cool as a start-up idea, I could care less about the show itself, but imagine shows being aired from Netflix and you just get them if you want, pay your price and you get TV shows that wouldn't exist otherwise.

Dammit, first Heroes and now The Event? Man, I really liked both those shows. I guess it's back to watching Firefly reruns on Science Channel...
