Re: Quick Help

I think it's options, like how they have 6GB and 4 GB of RAM both listed. I'd got with the Intel set up. The i5-4200U is a Haswell processor which is going to help with battery life a lot. I am honestly not sure about the RAM. I usually say just take more but I'd have to do some looking into it. I d...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I haven't played my sandbox save since the release so I can't say. It's not supposed to break anything since they add a few parts and put in the science system.

Not a fan of the science system right now, way, way, WAY too gamey.

Re: The Walking Dead

Which is going to be a bigger threat than walkers. They've got the walker situation pretty much under control but with a mid 19th century tech level disease will be a huge issue, and anyone who dies becomes a walker. The smart thing to do is throw someone in a cell the second they so much as cough.

You find it bullshit that creatures so large they find the biggest convention weapons "annoying" being brought down by nukes?

Re: So how screwed are we?

China and other countries are already saying that they need to start moving the world economy away from America having such a key role, because America simply can't be trusted to act responsibly any more. Don't particularly care for the implications of that but I can't fault the logic. Our governme...

Re: Buying a new computer.

The case comes with receptacles. You need a motherboard with an onboard USB 3.0 header to connect them to so they work. The last case linked has a USB 3.0 header and the case listed has receptacles meaning you will be able to have USB 3.0 plugs on the front of the case. The motherboard also has two ...

Re: Buying a new computer.

The onboard graphics could likely handle any of those. Do you want Windows 7 specifically or did you want 8? You can do this before the OS, PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 760K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($77.00 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI FM2-A...

Re: Buying a new computer.

Just turn the settings on any modern game down, you probably wont even notice. On a 1GB 610? Maybe, but you're gonna have to turn the texture settings WAY down to get a playable framerate. With only a gig textures are gonna be a bitch. If you want to game on this rig for just a little under another...

Re: Buying a new computer.

It's up to you. A graphics card like that isn't going to run anything brand new now very well but for me some graphics card is better than onboard graphics. You can tweak some things to get it lower but that's a good starting point to work from. I would caution you though, you're gonna pretty quickl...

Re: So how screwed are we?

I'm generally loathe to start fucking with the Constitution but that would be an effective way to ensure the programs remain in place and funded to some degree. The real problem comes if you need to change the way the program is handled or managed. If it's in the constitution it takes a full on amen...

Re: So how screwed are we?

I dunno if I'd tie it to taxes. It's not hard for someone who makes a good bit of money to pay little to nothing in taxes. Children, a mortgage on your house, some student loans, and you can be making $80k and paying nothing in taxes. In fact tieing voting to taxes would more or less ensure that unl...

Re: Buying a new computer.

What's your budget? I'm betting you can build a new computer that will fit your budget as cheap as an old surplus machine. For example, this is under $500, Win 7 Premium 64 bit included, after $25 of mail in rebates. 3.2 Ghz quad core AMD processore, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, Blu-Ray reader/DVD wr...

Re: So how screwed are we?

What? No, they assumed politicians would be like, well, every other person in political power on the planet or in most recorded history to that point, meaning they'd ignore the people for their own betterment and quite probably pull a Ceaser and take the whole thing over if they had the opportunity...

Re: Pacific Rim

Yeah, Pac Rim didn't hit it big here but it blew things up overseas so it made plenty of money. Guillermo is already writing the sequel. Picking up my copy this afternoon. The wall was just monumentally stupid. If they'd lined the top of it with kaiju killing weapons like Gipsy's plasma cannon then ...
