So far Orville has addressed serious issues without coming off as preachy. Episode 3 was all about gender issues and sexual reassignment surgery but I heard nothing but praise from the right who has been attacking STD for being preachy while doing the same thing.

Really great episode I thought. I think the Union is worried about the holy war as it seems that the Krill vessels are more advanced. It's the difference between an occasional raid and an armada. It'll be interesting if any of the technology from the destroyer makes it onto the Orville.

I think 87,000c is a good pace. It let's them flush out a lot of the Galaxy. The Federation is really confined to a tiny little area in Star Trek. But on the other hand, it's still slower than Star Wars and their crossing 5,000 lightyears in a few hours. That leaves some frontier areas for them.

It seems to not be politically motivated. From what I could gather it's revenge for a slip and fall. I don't see how shooting nearly 600 people equals that but who understands the mind of a psycho.

I really like that the Orville Universe doesn't have a flat plane of technology like we tend to see in Star Trek. I would imagine it's known to them but they have the schematics. There seems to be at least a few races significantly more advanced than the Union that could.

Love the show. I feel like STD was a real let down... as STDs tend to be!
