Re: Solar Farm rejected by town - "It will suck up the sunli
So to be fair. The original news article was written to be click bait. The solar farm was rejected, but not for the reasons the article states (there were a lot of issues with logistics, as well as the Company demanding tax money to help pay for the farm, which was going to be the cities fourth sola...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I believe that, at least in the US, there is a distinction between a resume and a CV. As it has always been explained to me resume's are used to highlight work experience and are used primarily when seeking employment in the private work place. A CV highlights education and academic work and is used...

That was a great game. The women really laid it on and played that game out well.

Re: What are your "JFK" moments?
The 9/11 Attack is really the only one that I have. I was in 4th grade and the first plane hit while I was in music class. I know that because I remember coming back into the classroom from music class and seeing the smoke coming out of the first tower on the news, and then I remember seeing the pla...

Re: Funny pics
Neither do I, thus I stand by my initial remark that the joke was in the two added figures making fun of the seriousness with which the actual team was displaying in their animated lineup. That's also how I read it. The joke makes you realice how ridiculous the whole introduction scene is. Mikey, I...

Re: Funny pics
I don't get the joke. Are you saying that homosexuality is something at which to be laughed, or that it's a joke to have homosexuals in professional athletics? It's a joke because someone created that to inspire laughter through the contrast between the seriousness of the actual players and the two...

Re: Funny pics
It's a joke, someone added that to the actual lineup from, I believe that was Portugal, from the last World Cup.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
The only time in the four years I was doing my undergrad (in Iowa) that class was cancelled for inclement weather was when we got a freak blizzard that dropped 20 inches of snow on the town virtually overnight. 1st year at my grad school (in NC) and they've already cancelled classes till noon, becau...

Re: ENT 2.22 Cogenitor
Good point, I'd forgotten that. I wonder what would have happened if they'd caught him on their ship teaching the Cogenitor right at the start, and arrested him? Somehow I can't see Archer just letting them keep him and leave... but then, what could he really do? Legally he wouldn't have a leg to s...

Re: ENT 2.22 Cogenitor
It's worth noting that when Trip starts teaching the cogenetor how to read he does so by sneaking around on the Vissian ship. It isn't until a few days later that the cogenetor asks to see enterprise and he brings it back to the ship.

ENT 2.22 Cogenitor
So I decided to work my way through all of Trek again, starting with Enterprise (get the worst out of the way first right?) and I just watched the episode Cogenitor, and I thought the episode raised some interesting points and wanted to get the opinion of the crew. A recap for those of you who haven...

Re: Cool Picture Thread
How far away can you see car headlights on a clear night? How far away when it's foggy? And that's visible light - infrared absorbs better, one would think. Far enough, and comparing car headlights to collimated, coherent laser light is like comparing apples to stop signs. You're right, it is very ...
