Re: "Cats: The Movie" Trailer
Forgive my ignorance...but.....to me they don#t look all that different from the muscial make up, no? (Never been a Cats fan though....) https://www.youtube.com/embed/ywFbpDjpZno More or less my point....I do not get the controversy.....seems they always where human dancers in cat-makeup......and t...

Re: Generations - battle reedit
While I agree that this battle is one of the most shamefull things in Star Trek ever........the biggest problem is the huge inconsistency when it comes to Star Trek battles. And maybe this battle is getting too much critique if you consider a couple of things. Unfortunately, Star Trek never was cons...

Re: USS Stargazer Retrospective
Never really cared much for it but recently I have to say it became one of my favourite ship classes....and maybe the best kitbash there is. It just looks great from almost every angle, it makes sense from a design point of view (moreso than the Constitution class, since it is not so unbalanced) and...

Re: Trek Facts- The Starship Classes Of Wolf 359
One of my small contributions to Trek fanhood! Though I'm still amused that if you look up the specs on certain ships, a good portion of the time it's obvious that they come straight from DITL. If you ever read of "Pulse fire torpedo tubes" and such, that's me. Even a few of the Trekyard ...

Re: Trek Facts- The Starship Classes Of Wolf 359
Um, well, in some part that would be due to me. I coined the term "Enhanced Deterrence Explorer" back in the day (and a google search for that term doesn't even show DITL as a result, how humiliating). I took the idea that the Defiant was an "escort" and thought it would be fun ...

Re: Trek Facts- The Starship Classes Of Wolf 359
It's always fascinated me that there are people who completely refuse to accept that Starfleet does not consider itself to be a military force... whilst simultaneously complaining that Starfleet doesn't act much like the military force they think it so clearly has to be. And yeah... the GCS wasn't ...

Re: Trek Facts- The Starship Classes Of Wolf 359
I don't know....although fun to watch there is a lot of conjecture going on in all of this videos. One of the main themes seems to be that Starfleet was basically incredibly incompetent in early TNG years because they were not militaristic and the ship designs seemingly reflected that. This is not h...

Re: "The Witcher" Official Teaser (Netflix)
Couple of good things in the trailer...couple of bad things.... The biggest mistep seems the casting....Geralt isn't a Henry Cavil pretty boy....and some of the other characters...if I weren't told who they are supposed to be I wouldn't know, so that is probably not a good sign..... That being said ...

https://www.youtube.com/embed/28C1KeGdIkc God...they won't even look at her, as she inserts herself into their conversation. It's so cringy that my soft heart feels bad for her. Not me. She and most of her family are scummy scum at best. I kinda disagree. No matter my thoughts on her personally.......

Re: Starship Lore : Akira Class - A Controversial Warship
I don't know but I feel that for the Akira especially - but also for the Sovereign - there seems to be assumed a LOT which actually - canonically might not be the case, e.g. that they were both "designed" for war. And yet...we never see any Akiras or Sovereigns fighting in the Dominion War...

Re: "TERMINATOR 6: Dark Fate" Trailer (2019)
Isn't Cameron basing this on ignoring all the other Terminator movies apart from 1 and 2? Seems that he agrees with you... Still a solid "meh" from me.... It should have ended with 2, imho the story just doesn' t give anything more......and that is the problem with all the others....the a...

Re: On Reconciling Visual Style with Narrative Continuity
I tend to agree with a couple of your points and I do get where you are coming from. I am more on the side of being more forgiving about all the visual changes Discovery has subjected us to. However, you also question the redesign fo the E-Nil being a sacrilege, impling that it just follows the gene...
