Plotline

The Enterprise undergoes repairs at Starbase 1. Number One and La'an discover two ensigns walking around on the surface of the ship. When questioned they reveal that they are taking part in a game played by the lower decks crew members called "Enterprise Bingo", they also reveal that the pair are known as "fun-killers". Number One and La'an decide to try the game themselves.

Spock is worried that, his fiancé, T'Pring thinks he is becoming too human so he plans to spend his shore leave reconnecting with her. Spock and T'Pring take part in a special mind meld ceremony so they can understand each other better. Unfortunately, Admiral April interrupts to ask Pike and Spock to help negotiation with the R'ongovians who are thinking of joining the Federation. The interrupted ritual causes Spock and T'Pring to swap katras, leaving their minds in each others body. Faced with this Spock and T'Pring attempt to do each other's work, which they eventually succeed, learning about each other in the process.

Afterwards, M'Benga and Chapel help them to switch their katra's back to the correct bodies.
