Review : All around a pretty poor episode. The beginning is very rough and sudden, with no view of Chakotay's disaster. You have to listen to hear how he got there and why he was in the neighborhood...which would normally be fine, but it was pretty short. The fact that Chakotay gets controlled so easily is poorly done. Isn't there something in the Prime Directive about not involving yourself in other people's wars? Plus, it isn't until the end where we hear a vague reference to a 'mix of mind-control techniques'. No details, little adherence to the rules, and the speech patterns of the 'aliens' (although it was a nice touch) made things very hard to keep up with.

Review : Arguably one of the wierdest episodes of Trek I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I was 10 when I watched this the first time (11 years ago), and its confusing elements have tainted it so much that I can't bring myself to watch it ever since.

Review : Not entirely believable. Firstly, Chakotay's written off yet another shuttle (although he was shot down, so maybe it's just bad luck). Secondly, I think we were supposed to believe that the events during Chakotay's recruitment really happened, or were on some giant holodeck, rather than implanted memories or something like that. That's a huge resource expenditure for simple recruitment. It had its good points, the Vori dialect was curious, and one has to wonder why other species do not have such distinctive turns of phrase. There was also the apparent mirror-image between the two sides in the conflict. However, I found the credibility issues at the end ruined the whole story.

Review : In the beginning I wished I didn't have to glimpse this episode, but in the soon after, it ended all right. Really only 2.5 stars.
