Wow, that O'Brien really doesn't do things by halves. Remember when Data used his phaser on a high setting in "The Ensigns of Command", and blasted several miles worth of an aqueduct with one shot? Well, when O'Brien plans to kill himself he sets his phaser to maximum power. That would probably take out a significant section of the station!

Plotline

When O'Brien is convicted of spying on the Argrathi, he recieves a neural implant which gives him the memories of a twenty year prison sentance. Back on the station he finds it difficult to readjust to being back within normal life, especially given the things that he was driven to do whilst a 'captive'.
